Trail Descriptions

Summit Trail: Beech Hill Road. Woods Trail: Rockville Street. The Summit Trail offers views of the Bay and mountains. Beech Nut, built in 1914, is a stone hut on top of the hill. The preserve is managed for bird habitat and organic blueberries.




Look for

141 bird species, including eastern towhees, savannah sparrows and northern harriers. Many events and Beech Nut open houses; check website.

Directions

Beech Hill Road: From Camden, go south on Route 1, turn right onto Beech Hill Road. Parking lot on the left in 1.6 miles. Rockville Street: From Camden, go south on Route 1, turn right onto Rockville Street. Parking lot is on the right in 0.7 miles.

History

Protected by our founding conservation easement in 1986, the preserve was purchased in 2003 with the help of Maine Coast Heritage Trust and the Stetson family.

Many Land Trust events are held at Beech Hill. THE PRESERVE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR WEDDINGS OR PRIVATE EVENTS.
