about us

Coastal Mountains Land Trust was founded in 1986 to permanently conserve land to protect the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay region. In total, we have conserved over 13,000 acres of land by creating public nature preserves and helping landowners conserve the natural character of their properties. We are a small local nonprofit organization that serves 15 communities between Rockport and Prospect, Maine. You are warmly invited to become a member and/or to participate as a volunteer.
